A 62-a editie a Premiilor Grammy 2020 a avut loc aseara in Los Angeles iar lista castigatorilor in categoriile muzicii pop a fost dominata de artistii lansati in ultimii doi ani. In total, au fost acordate peste 80 de trofee.
Revelatia muzicii pop din 2019, Billie Eilish, a dominat gala Premiilor Grammy castigand 7 trofee. La numai 18 ani a devenit cea mai tanara femeie din istoria evenimentului care care a primit „The Big Four” – cele mai ravnite trofee: „Albumul anului”, „Cantecul anului”, „Inregistrarea anului” si „Cel mai bun artist debutant” pentru „When we all fall asleep, where do we go?”
Lista castigatorilor o gasiti mai jos, fiind completata de artisti noi precum Lizzo sau Lil Nas X dar si de Lady Gaga, Beyonce sau Gloria Gaynor care au primit trofee in categoriile mai putin cunoscute.
Michelle Obama se numara printre castigatori cu versiunea audio „Becoming” , una dintre cele mai bine vandute carti din ultimii ani cu peste 11 milioane de exemplare.
Este al treilea trofeu Grammy care ajunge in familia Obama dupa cele doua premii castigate de Barack Obama cu versiunile audio ale cartilor „Dreams from my father” si „The Audacity of Hope”.
Una dintre surprizele Grammy 2020 este trofeul castigat de dirijorul roman Cristian Macelaru pentru „Cel mai bun instrumental solo de muzica clasica” pentru Marsalis: Violin Concerto, Fiddle Dance Suite – Nicola Benedetti.
Nascut in Timisoara in 1980, artistul roman provine dintr-o familie cu 10 frati in care toti au studiat muzica. Dupa mai multe concursuri nationale de vioara castigate in Romania, la 17 ani s-a mutat in Statele Unite ale Americii unde a devenit unul dintre cei mai premiati dirijori din lume.
La 19 ani, Macelaru a fost cel mai tanar concert-maestru din istoria Orchestrei Simfonice din Miami debutand pe scena faimosului Carnegie Hall din New York.
Incepand cu septembrie 2019, dirijorul roman a preluat conducerea Orchestrei din Koln. In acelasi timp, colaboreaza cu Philadelphia Orchestra si este director artistic pentru Orchestra Mondiala de Tineret a Centrului de Arte Interlochen din Michigan.
Din 2021, Cristian Macelaru va prelua directia muzicala a Orchestrei Nationale a Frantei.
